Local Contributors

On The Street Pitas prioritizes providing its consumers with clean ingredients. A substantial portion of their excellent quality ingredients is purchased from Eddydale Farm Market near the Robert H. Treman State Park and Cortland Produce.

Ithaca's local farm producers sell and distribute a multitude of fresh fruits and vegetables yearly. 'On the Street Pitas' goes by their motto "Live fast, eat well." Cooking with fresh ingredients is key to its brand, which is the reason they have such a loyal clientele.

On The Street Pitas Menu

The food truck menu consists of multiple options. Some of the menu items include pita sandwiches, salads, Greek gyros, rice bowls, pitas, hummus, and curly fries. That is just a fraction of the available choices.

Traditional Mediterranean Greek food is not only bold in flavor but also healthy. Greek food is focused on vegetables, whole grains, protein, and fruits. There are many health benefits from eating superfoods like these, as they lower risk of chronic diseases.

Growth

The Business Manager Patrick emphasized that having had a brick-and-mortar business and transitioning to a food truck, they did still maintain their loyal customers. The food truck has boosted their name. Having a business in advantage to being a college town is advantageous because of the fresh faces seen yearly.

With the annual events and festivals, their food truck mobility has increased their market growth and their business is thriving.

"We have been growing as a business! Part of it is tourist based in the spring and summer and the student population from Cornell and IC kind of rotate." Patrick (OTSP).

The area has many food trucks and restaurant storefront options, so the vending business is very competitive. However, the food truck vendors maintain a very professional and caring relationship with one another. It’s a food truck family unit in a sense, where they look out for one another.

Key to Providing a Great Service

Jason Horvath son of Brian Horvath, the owner of On the Street Pitas, is thrilled about businesses success and knows what it means to the community.

It took a village of loyal of loyal customers, local farmers, great customer service and fresh food ingredients to put them on the map. The 5-star yelp reviews they receive online have been consistent to the services they provide.

The best free promotion for a business is word of mouth and that has been a part of its exponential growth throughout the past 3-4 years. The On the Street Pitas food truck is extremely successful, and the opening of another location is surely in the near future.
